desperately looking for something to do until christmas we decided to organize a small race in milan. together with ghetto cross milano guys we met in a cold morning at the well-known viale emilio zola garden, if you can call it so. for safety reason you’d better not to try the circuit from 5 pm to 8 am
beside this the place is perfect to set up a quick cx race, there is mud, there are stairs, small climbs, a single track part, a killer stone, grassy gymkhanas and different glass bottles to avoid.
ah and there was also my dad with his beautiful allegro, and the tall guy from bergamo with another weird bike from his private collection. let’s say half a bike. but first, a few warming laps
did you spot it? yes! he’s santa! for testing our brand new frame we decided to hire santa, we thought he would have been in excellent conditions in this time of the year, but it turned out pretty quickly we were wrong. we should have known it, there was something suspicious in his beard. right after the start at the first section of stair he was already far away from the leaders, complaining about the trousers.
there is no much to say about the race, ain’t nobody there but us chickens! anyway level is increasing really quickly in milano’s cx scene, frank and ok_fede are two good examples, those two were flying over the first laps with dario few meters behind
remember i mentioned a killer stone? well frank had a discussion with the stone with two laps to go, his chainring took a beating.
ok_fede won. fireworks.
special thanks and christmas thoughts to everybody who participate to this event. there probably were more photographers than cyclists. frank even managed to cover both positions, see his report and pictures here, also check out giorgio’s set here. while for the pictures in this post casbah would like to thank ciuffo and renato.
